• Dale Bruning and Jude Hibler will be in concert with The Timeless Music of Richard Rodgers on Friday, July 19th, 2013 at the Longmont Senior Center from 2-4 pm, presented by Friends of the Longmont Senior Center. This event will be the kick-off to the Longmont Jazz Festival held in Roosevelt Park on July 20th, sponsored by the Longmont Jazz Association. http://longmontjazz.com
Bruning, who is a masterful jazz guitarist and arranger, will play songs penned by Rodgers and lyrics by either Lorenz Hart or Oscar Hammerstein, II, while Hibler tells stories about the songwriters and their music. Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote Oklahoma!, South Pacific, and The Sound of Music, among others. With Hart, he wrote My Funny Valentine, Blue Moon, Bewitched, There’s a Small Hotel, and You Are Too Beautiful, among others.
For the first time in their 18 year Timeless Music Concert history, Hibler will include a visual display of life on Tin Pan Alley. This will be part of the show itself.

The Concert is FREE, but people need to sign up so The Senior Center knows how many chairs to put out. Cookies and punch will be served afterwards. People can start signing up on Monday, April 15 via phone or internet. It will be activity #383002.00.
